load bearing wall removal - LVL - Hello, We are looking for someone to do a fairly simple bit of construction in our basement. We have a load bearing wall I would like to remove. We have had a structural engeneer come and specify the requirements for it to be up to code. Per his report: "minimum beam size is a 4 ply 1 3/4" x 11 1/4" LVL supported on each end by a 4x8 STP#2 post." The opening would be about 11 feet.
